Fires:
Over 600 homes destroyed.
150,000 acres of the 66,678,400 acres in the entire state of Colorado have caught on fire.
Over 2500 people evacuated, and more than double that were on pre-evacuation.
Batman Shooting:
12 people killed. 78 injured.
The youngest being a 3 month old baby.
A boyfriend died in protection of his girlfriend and her younger brother.
One celebrating his 27th birthday.
And that's just what has hit the news.
Beside that...we have had multiple deaths, suicides, car accidents, etc.
This state is having everything thrown at it trying to tear it shreds. Everything is quickly becoming, fragile.
{T.R.A.G.E.D.Y}...after...{T.R.A.G.E.D.Y}
I can't even lie to you and say I'm not scared.
I'm terrified.
Every which way I turn, something traumatic has occurred.
This place, Colorado, has always carried it's own.
The mountains are gorgeous.
The few lakes we have are beautiful.
The people.
The sights.
To me everything used to be so picture perfect here in Colorado.
So what good is coming of all this calamity and adversity?
We. Are. Sticking. Together.
Support in every way, whether it be to the ones who evacuated their burning homes, or the ones that lost a family member or friend in a Batman massacre.
This state is showing support.
Those who are able, are offering the best help they can.
[COLORADO HAS COME TOGETHER]
In this time of need, strangers are turning for love.
Those who used to disagree are becoming allies. We are shortly realizing that what once mattered, is being replaced by bigger comings. Our lives are being shattered, only so we can try and pick up whats left and start again.
It's insane to think that one day something or someone is here, and the next moment they are gone.
This world is so ever changing.
So yes, I'm scared.
Colorado has recently proven it self to be unpredictable, kind of like it's weather.
But it has taught me that daily, we should all be on our hands and knees.
Praying for those affected.
Praying for strength to carry on.
Praying in gratitude that we have what we have.
{.praying.}
It should no longer matter how long it's been since our last mani/pedi, it should no longer matter if our DVR forgot to record our show.
What should matter is that we are alive.
What should matter is that we have the ability to go outside and appreciate a beautiful world that God has given us.
So what is it like living here, in the middle of all of this? Everywhere you go is fragile.
I'm learning to appreciate everything. I think that everyone living here is quickly coming to grips that we have here in this state, is really nice.
And seeing most of it burn to ashes, its alarming.
Seeing the innocent ones become lost, its discomforting.
But mostly, it's all discouraging.
Because we all know the potential this state has.
We are all proud to say Colorado is our home.
